Hi I know this may have been discussed before but I couldn't find comment on the weight part of the two...
The only thing that sort of pushes me away from the GT60 is that it is 1kg heavier... I wonder if that is a big deal?I am currently using a 2012 15` Macbook Pro, and find it okay to carry around in my school.

Carryability (is that a word?) is pretty subjective. You can try putting an extra kilogram in your backpack (like a big book) and see if you notice the difference.

To be honest i think the extra weight is perfectly fine for carrying around and definitely worth it over the GE60, much better performance all around with GT60. Also you have the backlit keyboard which IMO i think no backlit is a deal breaker. Id say go with the GT60 for sure. I've been trying to decide for myself between the GT60 and GE60 but i saw them in person and saw that its a lot nicer and not that bad in size. Since you are a Macbook user you will need to get used to it, but its still not bad.

In terms of performance, i thought the difference between 660 AND 670 is pretty small? -

According to Vantage benchmarks, 670m is approximately 10%-15% more powerful at stock. With some overclocking you can meet or exceed stock 670m performance.
I know I'll be overclocking this sucker. -

Well, if you want to get technical, the 670m is "old tech" Fermi, while the 660m is the brand spanking new Kepler.
-
670m = Fermi
33.5 bil textures/sec
72 gb/sec memory
660m = Kepler
30.4 bil Textures/sec
64 gb/sec memory
670m is better hardware-wise
10% better fillrate
12% better memory bandwidth
Remember, that while you can overclock to 670m stock speeds, the 670m overclocks too. -
so basically i am spending $300 more for a little upgrade of The graphic card and a nicer keyboard?

It's all pros and cons, really, along with the overall notebook package as a whole. -
In the defaulty package (the one that is $300 more expensive)
-12GB instead of 8GB of Ram
-dual 500GB hard disks instead of one 750GB. (the most important being the dual drive bays as the GE can only house 1 normal and one mini-ssd)
To be fair, the GE series is lighter and less bulky.
This isn't to say the GE-series is a bad thing... but its their "lighter and value" gaming offering.
The GT-series is their "power-gaming" offering which will likely eventually house the 680m.
The point above is, that it isn't just the video card and keyboard. There are quite a few differences. -

It's confirmed that the GT series will eventually house the 680m.
Also, in addition to what Kernel said, the GT series do have more robust cooling systems. -
When you guys say the GT series, are you talking about both GT60 and GT70? So far, I haven't heard anything about the GT60 getting the gtx680m. It's user up-gradable I'm sure, but I think MSI abandoned the gt60.

Yes, the GT60 and GT70.
My info is from a reseller, who says we can expect GT models with the 680m.
