So I was looking around for a nice deal for this laptop and found one on ibuypower

MSI GE60 Apache Gaming Laptop: iBUYPOWER® Gaming PC

    Free upgrade to i7-4810mq

This bothers me a lot. I want to snatch that deal, BUT on MSI's site ibuypower isnt listed as a place to buy them AND I can't find a single Apache for sale that has the 4810/ can upgrade to one. Things don't add up.

Ive heard good things about ibuypower but this looks sketchy

    Help?

Wont hurt to shot them an email to get more details on it. The GE60 series typically have HQ CPU's pre installed which usually are not upgradeable.

As Hutsady said, the similar model uses 4700HQ/4710HQ which are BGA CPUs but not PGA.

    Hey Blakkdragon!

We are an authorized dealer for MSI laptops, for some reason this was not displayed on their E-tailer site. We emailed them immediately to correct this issue! Thank you for bringing this problem to light. :)

As for the GE60 Apache, we receive barebones of the GE60-Apache Pro, which has a socket for CPU upgrades. The compatability for these upgrades include the i7-4810mq. ( MSI Global GE60 2PF Apache Pro)

Hopefully, that clears up some confusion. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

Is there any difference between 2PF and 2PE.

    This is my laptop

that specific model you linked looks like its the 2PE since it has a non-socket cpu (Intel Core i5 4210H). you wouldn't be able to upgrade the cpu on this particular one.

The 2PF model allows for a socketable CPU, such as the Intel Core i7 4710MQ, 4810MQ, etc.
