    Hey guys,

I just received my GE60 earlier this week and did a fresh install of Windows 7 last night onto a mSata drive. Everything is installed and working fine, however I was unable to come across a copy of Cyberlink YouCam which is included with the machine. I couldn't find a copy of it on the included CD or available for download from MSI's website. Does anyone know where I can get the install file from, whether that's on the web or hidden somewhere on the regular drive. Thanks for the help.

This is kinda off topic but did you use the cd-rom or a usb stick to install windows on the m-sata ?

I downloaded the x64 home premium w7 iso from digital river and burnt it to a dvd and installed it. Pointed all the drivers that didn't install to the windows directory on the spinner. Installed all the software I wanted from the included CD, msi's website and intel's website. Updated all the drivers from msi/intel/nvidia. Everythings g2g. Now I just need to upgrade this crappy wireless card and upgrade to 16 gb of ram and i have a beast of a laptop for $1600 :).

The stock card is an Intel Centrino Wireless N 135. It's a single band (2.4 GHz only) card with bluetooth rated at 150 Mbps.

    Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 135

    I'm looking into two alternatives: Intel Centrino Advanced N 6235 ($25) and Killer Wireless N 1202 ($50).

The Intel 6235 is a dual band (2.4 GHz / 5.0 GHz) card with bluetooth rated at 300 Mbps. It's much more suited for HD streaming, Gaming, etc. I'm shocked that this isn't the card they shipped with the laptop.

    Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235

The Killer 1202 is an even better version of the 6235 more suited for gaming, but it's been out of stock on amazon so I will probably go with the 6235. I might pick up a 1202 down the road just to play with.

The three cards above are all dual antenna cards. There are some really nice triple antenna cards out there if you feel like running your own antenna, but I don't. Those options are the Intel 6300 and the Killer 1103. However those cards do not include bluetooth and as I said, require you to run an additional antenna. Those are both around $80.

Odd. I had no problem installing S-Bar, though like you I haven't been able to find the Cyberlink camera.

S-Bar should be in the drivers/utilities disc. Can't find it, or is it not installing?

There are no troubles with the s-bar, that works fine :) What I meant was that neither the S-bar or the Function key (fn+f6) seem to be able to turn on the webcam. The animation comes up when I use the S-bar to try and turn on the webcam and also when I turn it off, even the sound (like when you unplug a USB stick) comes.

Have you checked with other software to check if the camera is working? Perhaps maybe Skype or CameraRecorder. If it's turning on in S-Bar it usually means it's enabled.

Tried that now, installed skype but it didnt detect a webcam.

Weird thing is that I upgraded to windows 8 on friday and then I could get the webcam to come on, took pictures and recorded video just to test and it worked ... just used the camera in metro(start) to start it up... but yesterday i had to reinstall windows 8 (do a clean install) and after that I cant use the webcam... dafuq?
