    Hi Guys,

I have noticed a really annoying thing about my GE-60. I have a M sata for my OS and a 500gb hd. As i was running out of space on my ssd I started to install things on my hd but I always find that there is a 20sec delay when I access the hdd even just for the file explorer and it is especially laggy if I had installed a program onto the hdd.

Do any of you have this problem? i have already gone into power option to make hdd power off to "never" doesnt seem to help!

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks!

HDtune it, see if the SMART data do not say it's damaged or s.th and do a speed test :)

It might be the same as what I get, if so the problem is the Advanced Power Management built into the drive, it spins down after 60 seconds or so of no use.
To stop it, get CrystalDiskInfo, go Function -> Advanced Feature -> AAM/APM Control -> Select the HDD -> Disable APM.
It'll be back on after a shutdown (possibly sleeping too), so if you want to automatically be disabled you can also go Function -> Advanced Feature -> Auto AAM/APM Adaption and Function -> Startup.
