I'm pretty happy with the sRGB color profile provided by the True Color ap for my GE72. Flesh tones look good, which is the big thing I look for. But ... black levels are way off, with black crush--i.e. details in darker areas are lost. I've pushed the brightness level in True Color all the way to 100 percent but black levels are still way too dark.

Is there a way to further adjust black level with the True Color sRGB profile?

Can you tell me your screen model? I have the color profiles for the Adobe RGB but I need to know your screen model to check if it has a profile for your screen.

You can find out your screen model name through AIDA64 Extreme under the Display > monitor tab

Thanks for responding and for the heads up on AIDA64. That's a great program. According to it, my panel is a LG Philips LP173WF4-SPF1 ... I'd love to try any profile you send me.

EDIT: I've seen online references to this panel as being an IPS? I'm kind of surprised that's what this is, since the reviews I've read all reference my laptop as having a TN panel ... it would explain the pretty decent viewing angles though.

It's IPS, though the GE series has been available with a mix of panel types.

Thanks for weighing in! Do you know if it is possible to find a glossy IPS panel for this model, and if so, from whom?

All the ones I remember that were already in them were matte, but I don't think it should be too hard to find a glossy screen with the right number of pins.
