I have a few questions regarding the overall finish and durability of MSI laptops. Are the screens nice? Do the hinges crack? Some sites sell the MSI 1039 with a gloss paint Is the paint good quality?
I'm looking at getting an MSI 1039 with the orange gloss paint but It seems to be 1000 less than other machines of the same power. you can check It out at buyxg.com tell me what you think.

They seem to be pretty well built, and check for the vendor you want to buy it from for color since they are the ones who paint it. Overall they seem to be very solid, though a couple of them are a tad bit to plasticy for me the screens seemed to look great, and MSI for an ODM has a really good repair center and are pretty quick getting the unit back to you.

The MSI 1034 hinge cracked in less than 1 month of normal usage. MSI is being very uncooperative with honoring the warranty and it looks like my only option right now is to buy a new ASUS barebones, gut the MSI and chalk it up to getting screwed by a crappy company.

The system is very light plastic. I would stay away.
