He says the RTX 2070 scores 6050 points in Time Spy. Yikes. Sort of low IMO. My TDP modded 1070 scores similarly (better overclocked) in Time Spy.

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/32892209? -- My Overclocked 1070.

This would put the RTX 2070 laptop even below an RTX 2060 desktop. Seems desktop grade laptop GPUs are gone for this generation at least.

I don’t know, after watching it when it “released” 40 min ago, I didn’t feel like I gained any real information. It seemed like he was skirting around to talk about it just to be the first person to “review” a rtx laptop

Also I was watching another video that discussed the specs released for the rtx cards and how strange the specs were. Unlike other releases that even had their own section for Max-q. Link:

It seems that due to the large fluctuations on the specs, the power brick of the laptop will have a heavy effect on the performance of the RTX cards. So many of the laptops will have the same video card and processor, but might have very different performance depending on how much power it can provide.

He said 7015 or 7050 in timespy. Had to re watch that part after I read your post. So 1400 higher then your 1070 oc.

7k actually puts it on par with a 1080 desktop stock.

Was going to point this out. I would like to know the individual scores, because I scored 7110 with my laptop, but my GPU score is 7700.

Yeah. In the desktop world, when not using reference cards, the 2070 is basically identical to a 1080, with very few performance difference. I would expect the same behavior on laptops, taking into account the loss in performance from both laptop GPUs.

In my case, my overall score is skewed lower due to my quad core CPU.

Looking forward to tomorrow to see the 2080 in action as well.

Considering the 8750 is inferior to your 8700, and how close his mumbled score is to mine, its anywhere between 10 to 20% faster than the 1070.

Why do the Youtube reviewers never post a link to their score... It's much smarter that way...

He pulled the link to his article from the youtube details - and the article was pulled from the site first.

It's too early to post those details or face the wrath of Nvidia for breaking Embargo.

Also he says in the video he hasn't had much experience with gaming laptops, probably not up to speed yet, you could post a request for links to the benchmark results in the youtube comments ahead of him releasing his full article.

Too early to tell, but it looks like at least for the duration of common benchmarks the clocks and power limits are allowing for good scores.

A lot of times we don't save it, just screen shot and move on. There's a massive amount of stuff to cover. Regardless, this comment will stick with me and I will be doing this from now on. I just don't have this for tomorrows review, sorry and thank you at the same time!

I understood it is only the first look of the laptop, would be nice if more are shown :D

I'm sure other youtubers have made also the same error when they come to showing the score, I just hope they are aware of that, that's why the sentence looks straight to the core.

Thank you for your effort Bob, most of us are really interested in the GPU wattage as there are many W ranges allowed for the OEM to choose when designing the laptop, but they never state it on their product page, the GPU sector of HWINFO64 will reveal all that, see if you can add that in, thanks! :D

This "review" is just a 5 min fast test made and published by a random youtube channel nobody heard of before so they could score a lot of views because they are the "first" ...

But fortunately that software would not reveal the wattage pulled with this MXM 2080 at this time.

Trust me that was one of the first things I did on day one was try to find this information.

Own or disown is reviewing a 2070 and his information was available, but mine wasn’t.

What many people might not realize is that the information available for a laptop that has not officially released was very difficult to obtain. Of course those struggles are not worth mentioning in a review because they won’t be relevant by the time people actually get their hands on these machines.
