Hi,
I have successfully added the Samsung 250GB 2.5-inch 840 EVO SSD into my laptop, but I have a hard time finding the supplier for the following parts:
- 2x 16GB 204-Pin 1.35V DDR3L SODIMM (partnr: MT16KTF2G64HZ 16GB)
Micron seems to have this in their stock, but you can't order it from their website. Crucial does not provide this, even though they are part of Micron.
If anyone find the supplier, please send the word to me.
PS: the i7-4700HQ can indeed support up to 32GB, as long as you stay with the 1.35V.

Here's a lot for you to choose from.
Amazon.com: 8GB DDR3L SODIMM -
As you already saw, you have found the 8GB modules. My laptop can have two SODIMMs, not four. I went looking at all the major players, but got stuck on 2x8GB SODIMMs.
The reason why I need this is, because I run Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V on it. And I am mostly on route. I got no problem now, but I like to run my complete lab on this. -

It's rare for someone to request 16GB modules, not to mention possible compatibility issues.
EDIT:
By the way, MT16KTF2G64HZ could have been sent as samples to a few manufacturers for validation & testing, but for some reasons (cost? popularity) it wasn't mass produced. -
I know. But I find it even more strange, that Micron has it in its stock. But no one is able to sell it.

Ah yes, the waiting game before someone is actually going to produce this. Didn't thought of that. I will contact Micron again.

16GB SO-DIMMs as single pieces, not kits (!), are available from www.intelligentmemory.com and can be purchased through their distributors (click 'Where to buy' on the website). The Non-ECC 16GB SO-DIMM is called IMM2G64D3LSOD8AG-B15E and costs around $300
But 16GB modules are not recognized on all current and older Intel Haswell, Sandybridge or Ivybridge processors. Interesting enough, they work fine on systems with AMD and other processors. The problem with Intel processors seems to be a limitation in the MRC (Memory reference code) which is a piece of software in the BIOS. Intel seems not willing to adapt that to support 16GB sticks.
NEWS:
The latest rumor says that 16GB modules do work fine on systems with the newest Intel Broadwell i3, i5, i7 -5xxxU CPUs! Intelligent Memory will surely know that... I will ask them.
