Want to start off by stating the reason i am posting this here is because this is the MSI owners area, and would like some direct feedback about the product.
I live in canada, and am buying from Futureshop or Bestbuy (or canada computers).
I have pinned it down to MSI to purchase. Going to be a gaming laptop somewhat, just for WoW and maybe anything that else comes out, might give crysis 2 a try (doubt it), or the new star wars mmorpg.
My budget is under $1500.
Here is the main laptop i am looking at, reason being, the speakers are an absolute must. They really change my mind completely.
Here is the page of laptops, so if your going to suggest it must be from there, or on bestbuy.ca
Search Result - Future Shop
Laptop i have my mind set on is,
MSI 16" Intel Core i7 740QM Laptop (GT660-003US) - Black : 16" Laptops - Future Shop
The audio seems unreal, and the graphics card is good along with an i7.
Only problem i have with it is the display. Is it HD? does it look good? I would have loved 1080p, but again the speakers honestly pulled me in.
Here is the other one i had set on before i found the GT660.
MSI 17" Intel Core i7 720QM Laptop (GX740-079US) - Black : 17" Laptops - Future Shop
Its cheaper, packs a better graphics card, bit bigger, 1080p display, not sure if the speakers are the same though.
Honestly, if i could get the above with the same speakers i am sold no matter what, but again the GT660 pulled me in.
What are your suggestions from experience? I am going to also check them out in store just to be sure, see what i like but i really want some feedback. If you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks![]()

may look into if the price comes out reasonable.

Sorry for the quick reply, just reading through some forums and forgot to mention one thing. Heating.
I would prefer it if the heating would be minimal, and im not operating a heatstove on my desk
Not expecting it to run super cool, just be decent. -
Delete thread please. Going to repost something more specific and a lot shorter.

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
I would buy neither. The new version of the gt 660 is coming out, and the SB chips have proved more than capable to kick the delicate butt of the previous i7

I know the newer version of the gt is coming out, but its going to be more expensive, and probably in the 1700's. Not only that, its the last time im going to buy a product that comes out on release date after i bought my Samsung Galaxy S on first day.
Too many problems with brand new-releases, normally they have time to revise and fix problems with future models being released. -
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
MSI dont do revisions.
If you wait for the release the price for the old hardware will drop.
