despite your epic and well-researched post, I think MSI will survive.

The x1800 wasn't available or even timelined when the roadmap was created. Roadmaps are guides, not hard and fast plans. The manufacturer will adjust according to what becomes available.

I hate to say this but I have yet to see a MSI with anything other than a mainstream card (ie X700/X1600 or go6600/g07600). I wouldn't hold one's breath for more than that.

So when does my 14", Turion X2, ATI x1600 (or x1800), WSXGA model come out? I'd also like a 15.4" with a keypad, but I'll have to keep barking up some more trees for that.

14" with x1800? Never, not with MSI or any other brand.
14" with Turion x2 and ati x1600.. probably unlikely I'm afraid.

they have difficulty putting wsxga onto their 15.4" notebooks....it's not happening for 14". and ditto to everything goren said. msi won't offer a 14" with a high-end gpu.

Why MSI doesn't want to make any Turion based 14" lappy?

we never said that they wouldn't. i said that they wouldn't put a high end gpu (i.e. ati x1800). it is very possible that they will have a 14" turion x2...

Yeah, x1800 may be dreaming, but I think MSI is making a mistake by not including any AMD notebooks between 12.1 and 15.4. I'd love a 13.3 or 14.1 if it came with any dedicated GPU, but even x200 will do.

Although I'll probably jump on the MS-1058 when it comes out, I would like something just a bit larger or with a dedicated GPU.

Any chance MSI will release a 15.4 with a number keypad. I love the looks of the LG S1 (15.4 with a keypad). Is that was the MS16323 is going to be?
