Why does everest state that my 1722 ID2 supports DDR3 1066 ram when I dont think it does.

Probably that the GM45/PM45 supports both DDR2 and DDR3 RAM, but your motherboard was designed with DDR2 slots (can't have both and can't change it). -

The above is correct your chipset supports DDR3 ram, however the laptop was set up for DDR2 as it can't be setup for both.

The chipset supports DDR3 nt the mobo.
