I've extensively tried searching this before and it sounds like it is possible with just a BIOS flash (which I'm not afraid to do). I'm just looking for some extra battery life in my notebook for browsing, mobile work, etc. without having to purchase a new one, since this one will suit me for the next couple years at least. Any way, my machine can be found in my signature and if there is any link. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a repost!

First, MSI does not have a BIOS with Optimus enable for second gen core i7 models.

Second, it's not just BIOS. in order for Optimus to work the HDMI on the mainboard has to hard-wired to Intel HD Graphics instead of nVidia.

So if the mainboard wasn't made with Intel HD Graphics enabled then it's not gonna work, therefore, MSI will not release such BIOS for you to download.
