Ever since I loaded Windows 7, my digi mic is useless (the one on the webcam).

I put the volume to 100, and the mic boost as far to the right as possible. It's still absurdly low.

I am testing in skype and in sound recorder. Both of them can't seem to use the mic properly.

anyone with ex625 run into this?

bump. I can't be the only one having an issue with this...

It's probably the same in the 620 model.

catacylsm is so right. I try everything I could to get the digital mic working properly on ex625 and could not. Its no use trying to fix it, its messed up for whatever reason. Just buy a headset or external mic.

I didn't seem to have a problem with it before... (vista, and even on win7 RC1 i remember using it).

    There's got to be something...

I have this same problem, but can't seem to resolve it. The microphone worked in Vista, but is not working in Windows 7. I would bet it is a driver issue.

    Hey guys,

I had the same problem with my ex625 and win7 64bit installed.
After some messing about I was able to fix it!
I uninstalled the latest realtek drivers and reinstalled the 32bit vista drivers on the cd that came with the laptop. I also installed the 64bit Dolby Control Center that was on the CD.

    From CD
    AP\Vista64\Dolby Control Center\DCC 2.0.1001 X64 Setup.exe
    Vista32\Realtek Audio\Setup.exe

    Hope this helps!

I had the same problem as described above. Couldn't get the microphone to work in Skype or with the Windows Sound recorder.

Here's how I fixed it...basically the same as CreamyTwinky:

I downloaded the latest 32bit Vista drivers for the ex625 from MSI's website and installed them instead of the windows 7 drivers available on their site. Uninstall the Windows 7 drivers first if you have them installed.

    Works like a charm now!

Here is a link to the driver page at MSI mobile: EX625 Drivers

I probably should have tried this, but i'm getting lazier with the years.

I confirmed, this fixes the problem. You only need to do this:
    - Uninstall the 2009-09-25 windows 7 32bit drivers (it's called realtek high definition audio drivers in "Remove Programs")
    - Install the 2009-09-25 vista 32bit drivers.

Right away, my digital mic picked up well. It set the mic boost back to 10db default.

New drivers are out on the MSI driver page. These are for windows 7 and fix the digital mic issue.
