Hi guys, I'm looking into purchasing the GT60 and was wondering if some of the drivers can be installed from the component manufacturer rather then MSI. In general, I hate depending on the notebook manufacturer for drivers but my main concern is that if I want to update the GTX 680M I'll have to wait for months before MSI releases driver updates or look for modded drivers which usually results in BSODs 9 out of 10 times.

    Thanks.

In the case of the 680M, then yes; you can absolutely go through NVidia for the driver(s)! The drivers supplied by the system manufacturer/seller are generally pulled from the component manufacturer's as it is.

You may have the benefit of redundant stability testing when getting a driver from the seller, though. But other than that, you can always refer to mirror sites and the component manufacturer for updates.
