I'm looking at the 15" model. Other general observations?

Don't buy it, it has a 48Hz Refresh rate lock on the screen, get the 3k version instead.

basically, it cannot play past 48 fps on all resolutions (4k, 1080) all the same 48hz lock.

No, it has 2 slots for memory. Great design, lightweight, enjoyed my first one so much I bought a second ;)

This is the reason to avoid the 4K version if you plan to game mainly on the internal screen. I personally went with the 1080p version, as it's a fantastic IPS display and avoids the current Windows scaling issues (hopefully Windows 10 addresses this), but also because it was available with the 6GB of VRAM. While not sure if that will matter, figured with the way these console ports are going, sure couldn't hurt, plus I do game when not travelling on an external monitor at home that I hope to one day upgrade to something a bit higher than FHD.

The 3K screen is a great option as well, and had there been a 6GB VRAM option, I'd have gone that way.

    Good luck!

thanks, I don't do any gaming. I test some work software, test virtual machines and in my spare time I like to trade some stocks with some fun money I've set aside and I just started 3d printing, CAD for fun. I've run 50hz and haven't noticed any issues nor eye strain. I like as much info as possible on the screen and I really like the 30 inch and 27 inch cinema displays at work. I don't need the fancy displays just the high resolution. I do need 32gb of ram either in 4x 8gb or 2x 16gb (if that ever comes around)

The current line of Intel CPU's will only recognize up to 8GB per stick of RAM so this model won't be able to ever support more then 16GB.

Yes it's an intel hardware limitation in the CPU's memory controller.
