I've been looking at the godly G53JW-A1, and decided today to compare it with the GX660R, and found that the GX660 is actually cheaper and has an i5 in it, something that interests me. So, does anyone know if the GX660, the i5-450m machine, have the option for switchable graphics?
TYIA!

Does not have it.
To be honest if you want battery life get a 17IN for gaming and a netbook for battery life.
Cheap and good netbooks cost less than $200 if you're a bargain hunter. -

In other news, the Sager 15.6" one (I forget the NP whatever 8-something number) is now offering a GTX 470 GPU at a similar price as the GX660R.
I honestly thought we would not see a GTX 470 before the launch of Sandy Bridge. Goes to show what I know! -

Most gaming laptops last at least 2 hours, GX640 can last 3. That's enough for 3 consecutive lectures.
Although I did used to my bring my Asus M50VM to lectures it's just a waste of baggage, doesn't help you learn and I just used it to play GoW in class. -

The gt663 has switchable graphics, doesn't it?
EDIT: guess I'm wrong.. -
I must admit I thought there was going to be an i5 version of the GT663 with Optimus, but it isn't showing on the MSI Website yet

PM55 chipset doesn't support the IGP.

So dookie..... never going to buy a laptop are you
At this point might as well hold out for the 6xxx series and sandry bridge since you've kinda waiting out this entire generation already. -
I'm actually waiting on my cc to come in the mail. I've been sold by the G53's feat...well, everything
ENVY 14 is still in my sights, but it's just too expensive for what it actually brings to my table, and has a crappy resolution for the road. If it got cheaper, or re-offered the 1600x900 reso, then I'd buy it fer shizzle with an i5-460m.
As always, thanks for your concern
Does the GX660 have...
