I believe they do, especially when it comes to upgrading etc, you can get in contact with them about voidance of warrenty (say you wanted to upgrade thermal paste or replace the CPU) they will tell you that thermal paste will not void warrenty unless your clumsy enough to fry the card, and that if you replace a component, the whole machine doesnt become void, just the installed component.
From what i can tell, MSI are prompt with warrenties, my friend unfortunately sent his MSI in and they were always fast to get it back to him. -
i hate to say but i dissagree. they are very hard to deal with and when it comes to warranty imo its more about the $$ then the customer.. sorry but they kinda ticked me off this past week
-
Ahh man, what happened z?
Sucks if there being like that, all my experiences and friends have been really good. -
its mostly there refusal to deal with me at a customer level. they want me to go through my reseller to get my gpu warrantied.. the reseller i got these from and yes they were legit is no longer in business. i told them that and the attitude was basically to bad or try to get another reseller to do the leg work for me..
not cool..and yes with receipt and all..so now its my problem. im going to pm a couple resellers here to see if they can be of any help but they didnt sell it to me so they should not have to get involved. if your original reseller goes bye bye then what?? it was just the whole attitude i got from them in this deal.. and i spoke with a couple different people. im going to ask if there is someone else for me to talk with.. -
Wow man, thats some really cr**y attitude from them, any way you can get in touch with someone up the line?
I know there are a few NBR users that work with or are resellers that hang around the MSI section. -
yeah im going to call someone i know who is a reseller monday and see what he can do about it. i also know a few people at msi in tech support area ill call them as well. i didnt have a ton of time today to spend on the phone on hold.. and ready for this... to replace the card w/out warranty 585$ yep you read that right... insane
-
Thats just rediculous, 585 is disgraceful, you are better off putting it in an oven trying to ressurect it, but that price...
-
I have not had any problems with MSI other than long waits on their call center. They are prompt on email responses and will take their time to answer your questions. I luckly have never had to use their warranty service which is good considering all my mobos and graphics cards come from MSI. I have built 5 customs so far for self and friends. The 627 is my first laptop from MSI and the quality seems good so far.

Because you bought from a reseller, your warranty is from the reseller, and MSI is not responsible. For bigger companies going out of business, the warranty is usually transferred to a 3rd party or covered my the company's insurance. But of course, smaller businesses, like this reseller, would not have that, and in the bankruptcy, the company is freed of all liabilities,
so it is not really MSI's fault. -
thank you rob.. pm replied... much appreciated. at least the resellers are stand up.. rob, and justin are always willing to help i can say that even if they didnt sell it. that alone makes up for it imo..shows how much they care about the customer. thank you again for your offer rob!!
-
Thats good news that Z,
but as far as im aware, with MSI machines you have warrenty with MSI aswell as the reseller, so it is MSI's fault im sure.
Only rebrands may fall into different catagory. -
Wow, I had forgotten i had written that thread until now XD But exception made for a fwe people, i see that they have a pretty good CS... And, un the website I plan to buy from, they say 1 year warranty with MSI not them. So i guess i'll be fine.
Thank you
