    Hi gang.

So I haven't bought a computer in like 8 years and never a laptop. I decided recently to splurge and buy a new 'puter. I have a gt60 2oc-003us MSI laptop. I like it so far and it seems to run well with the exception that games are not seeing the nvidia 770 card and defaulting to the onboard intel.

    - Power cord is plugged in
    - Windows 8 device manager sees both displays with no error messages
    - I have tried to update the latest drivers from nvidia but it said everything is updated
    - I have tried to force the programs to 'run using nvidia' card when I right click the game icon to launch
    - I have forced the nvidia control panel settings to use nvidia as the default card
    - I tried changing the computer mode from eco to game

Confused... I don't think it's dead as nvidia sees it, windows sees it... games do not. :(

    Any suggestions appreciated, thank you!

Are you positive games are not seeing it? On your laptop Power button, there is a LED light. When said LED is of white color, it means the IGP is in use. when it switches to a Red/orange color, it means the nVidia GPU kicked in. Use software like GPU Z to force the nVidia GPU to kick in, and run some games while using monitoring software like HWMonitor and/or MSI Afterburner, that way you can see the % of utilization, clockspeeds and temps when in use.

Some games do need to be forced to run on the nvidia gpu as you have done in the control panel.

What game are you playing? Can you run 3D mark and let me know the score?
