    Hello everyone,

I've had my MSI gt627 for a little over a year, and the DC jack from the AC adapter power brick seems to be loose. More specifically, I need to fiddle with the connection to ensure the laptop remains on AC power. I think the jack on the motherboard needs to be replaced, but hopefully just a solder touch-up would be sufficient.

Does anyone know if a disassembly guide? I could probably figure it out, but guides are always nice.

What about obtaining the DC jack? Has anyone needed to do this? I'll give MSI a call on Monday, but figured asking here wouldn't hurt either.

Done. I'm fairly new to these boards and had no idea there was a point system. Thanks again!

depending on the size pin MSI uses which i'm not sure of, you may be able to find one on ebay.

I have been somewhat worried about the DC jack since the day I got my gt627. I try to avoid taking the plug out of the jack and just carry the whole power adapter when possible.

My old toshiba had a broken dc jack twice. There was actually a class action lawsuit which got all owners an extended warranty so that covered the first repair, and it is now out of warranty, not worth repairing, so it sits in one exact spot as the media pc for my tv.

thankfully msi has a 3 year warranty.
