I´m looking at two almost identical slim notebooks with same GPU (860m), CPU and amount of Ram. Yet the GS70 has no optical drive but a higher MP webcam and a higher battery mAh (does this matter?). Also the GS70 is slightly more expensive.
Does one of these notebooks have a better chassis or something? Which should I choose?

GE70 - Bulkier, without dual fan cooling, with really poor battery life
GS70 - Lighter, Slimmer, with dual fan cooling, with average battery life :)

GS70 is slightly more expensive because of things i mentioned... simply its premium series of MSI Laptops

PS: I dont think you will need optical drive ... in today world everything is trying to be adapted to USB, or simply external hard drives :)

But won't the GS70 make more sound because of the double fans and produce bit more heat in it's slimmer case?

Well not really, as i was reading through the theards about GS model with 860M it is not as loud as you think it can be :)
and about temperature that's why there's dual fan :)

and also GE models does not have so good fan ... Idle temps are maybe better than GS but its not effective during gaming session ...

The GE is more a value propensities while the GS is more refined.
