Did I mess up by putting a 1070 into my Titan?

    Hey guys,

I just got a MSI titan from xoticpc (with cooling package, 16 gb RAM, 512 SSD, obviously 6820HK i7. $2.7K.

It is, however, outfitted with a 1070 GTX. I did this because it was cheaper, but I'm a bit worried because I don't see any reviews with a 1070 in the Titan. I just wanted the space and cooling of the Titan vs the Dominator and paid for it. But the titan has a much bigger external battery to my knowledge - is that wasted on the 1070?

Sorry for the noob question. :(

The machine can handle a lot of more so it is overkill for GTX 1070 in terms of temperature and power consumption so I wouldn't really call it wasted.
Congrats on your new purchase and enjoy it!

If you have a 1080p screen then it's more than fine. A GTX1080 is way overkill for that.

A 1080 may have been necessary if you wanted to play at ultra settings in 4k. Otherwise you're fine.
