    DX versions slimming the power circuitry?

    Hmm. Interesting that you found this, I'm going to bookmark it.

    The MSI gx640 has quite a few random components missing. On the gx620, there were 2 or 3 VRMs next to the CPU which determines quad core support.

    It looks like they changed some things rather than upgraded/downgraded. The 3 vRMS on the DX version look different possibly higher powered overall. They also changed some of the black SMT caps to yellow ones.

    What I want to know is what that connector is next to the graphics card. Its been on many MSI notebooks and I've never seen anything plugged into it.

    Also there a smaller connector near the card reader on the MS16F2, while on the MS1761 it is used for the led backlit keyboard. If only i can change both of the useless ports for that connector :(

    I believe its a bios programming port.
