    DDR3 Ram in 1651 or GT627?

    Is this a possibility? Has anyone tried it?
    Theoretically I think it should work because they are using the proper chipset...
    Just curious since the DDR3 might extend the battery, and it might be worth it down the road when ddr3 gets cheap.

    no will not work at all.. ddr2 is 200pin ddr3 is 204 pin

    In theory the chipset supports both but the manufacturer only supports the one it builds a physical slot for. DDR3 and DDR2 are not pin compatible as said above. Also DDR3 has zero noticeable benefits in day to day apps, any difference btw a DDR2 and DDR3 laptop would fall under standard error (ie. lets say 5 min dif...)

    The real gain DDR3 gives you is in battery life not power. :D

    I think sometime in mid April the GT628 will be out and this will have the DDR3 memory. God Bless :)

    What K tron did there was interesting but i would love to see many sources showing comparisons.......Not taking anything away from him though the kid knows his stuff.

    Yeah if you want to wait for the 628 that will probably be faster and run cooler(Gpu) good luck :D
