The 500 GB drive that you left in the device is now a broken array partition, and you will need to reformat it before you can use it.

In Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management, is it there?

You need to click on the KLM Icon in the systray. For some reason, clicking on the Icon on your desktop or program folder does not work.
