Hi. Is the Corsair Gaming Memory (CGM2X2GS800) really compatible with the MS-1651? I have this memory for about 9mos and suddenly it gave my notebook BSOD (Stop 0x0000008e: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA) and it keeps rebooting. I temporarily replaced it with my 2x1GB PC2-6400 DDR2 and it worked fine again. Did I have a bad Corsair or something else?

Yes, because of its lifetime warranty, it will be replaced. For now, I am only using 1x2GB Corsair and its running without a hitch. Thanks for the response.

Got the new replacement memory and installed it with 2x2GB configuration. Unfortunately, still BSOD. What the h@ck?! I tried the replacement with 1x2GB configuration and let WinXP run and no BSOD so it means the replacement wasn't bad. Being paranoid, I also tested only 1 module on either DIMM 1 and 2 slots and were working fine and just to make sure the slots were not bad, too. I'm now stumped.

Is the Corsair brand incompatible with the laptop?

Is the MS-1651 tops only at 2GB memory?

Should I try a different brand?

Yes, try G.Skill, or OCZ. The are good brands.

Try updating your bios, msi laptops seem to ship with pretty old bios versions. There have been several updates that might have fixed this.

Pardon my ignorance, but how do I boot to floppy or the like. My BIOS seemed not show that option?

I read what you did and it was informative. Thank you. However, I only have three boot options -- hard drive, CD-ROM drive, and network boot. Any ideas?

Did you create the bootable usb device and plug it in? First go into boot device priority and set your hdd to #1. Then go back and go to hard drives. It should show your hdd as #1 and your usb device as #2. Change the usb device to #1. Save and exit.

Ah, I got it. Geez, even a caveman can do it, hehe. Thanks again.

I successfully flashed the bios. However, it is finally proven that it won't accept 4GB whilst running WinXP. I haven't proven with using Vista or Win7, though. Too bad. :(

Are some of you guys running WinXP with 2GB only?

I'm using windows xp pro with the same memory. I haven't tried installing 4gb, but you can always try downloading windows 7 release candidate and try it with 4gb.
