What laptop are you talking about?
Exactly what happens when you punch the P1 button? -
Its the MSI GX780-013 basically nothing happens at all its completely dead I even tried to connect other things to it like internet explorer etc and nothing at all. The light doesnt even light up

You need the S-Bar application and the nVIDIA OC Tool installed on your GX780 to have the TDE work.
I would recommend contacting your vendor's support team for help beyond that. -
Thanks paladin! Yeah i think I'm going to have to return this one to, I have the sbar and the nvidia oc tool ( though won't open) but the p1 basically is completely dead so I think it might be hardware
do you think requesting a free upgrade to a 683? Because it's closest in price? Would be my second drive from out of town wayy out of town Down to a location I didn't even buy at?

Good luck getting a free upgrade...but in all seriousness is the TDE that important to you?? Mine doesn't really work, but I don't care because I just use nvidia inspector to OC the GPU. When I press the P1 button, it says turbo drive on or whatever, but turns off automatically after about a minute. I'm assuming it's a software issue, but like I said I don't care. I highly doubt there's anything wrong with the hardware if the button still lights up when you press it, and it says "turbo drive on" on the display. If it does do those things, there's a 95% chance it's the crappy software.

The nVIDIA OC Tool is not supposed to open. If nothing is happening with your P1, how about Turbo Cooling and Cinema Pro...are they working?
xault is right, MSI down clocks your video card and then the TDE only brings it back to stock clocks...crazy but true. So, it is better to use nVIDIA Inspector anyway.
I also agree with xault...Good luck on getting a free upgrade. Either you or your vendor can get everything working on yours with the installation of the correct EC and drivers, so they are not likely to feel the need to upgrade anything, just get what you have working correctly.
Haven't you contacted your vendor about these things yet? -
I did contact them today and they basically said there is nothing they can do. They will give me a full refund for the laptop for the issues but thats about it. I asked to upgraded and no go its pretty tough I have had problems with them before but I always give the benefit of the doubt you know
He said he would have a new one there for me tom if I wanted. But I explained do I really have faith in this one line ;(
Would this one be comprable do you think? it goes down on the processor but up on the video card? I did get smoking deal on the Gx780 1150+tax after rebate so Im not sure

Well when I looked they share the same 2630QM CPU, the graphics is certainly faster on the GT683R by a decent margin.
If you have the money back then shoot Paladin a PM, I believe they offer discounts to forum members and as you have seen here they offer quick advice on here and i'm sure by email too. They should get you tooled up the best for your money.
