    Hi folks,

I've recently sold my desktop to purchase a new laptop for more portability and practicality for work/travel.

I'm basically stuck between the MSI gx640 and the ASUS g73jh-RBBx05. I have a few concerns about the gx640 and was wondering if the community could help me out.

In addition to reflecting on the concerns below, if you feel that the G73 would be a better purchase, please do say so! However, I imagine most people here would not feel that way.

    1. I've heard the keyboard is not so great, including the placement of the Fn key. Can anyone reflect on whether this is a real issue?
    2. I've read that the exhaust can cause a sweaty hand when gaming. Is this a real problem or is it easy to adjust your hand so that it's not noticeable?
    3. Are the heat issues I've read about being prevalent in MSI notebooks a big problem with the gx640?

    Thanks in advance!

These are the two deals i'm in between:

If you want mobility, get the GX640.
If you're just leaving on your desk as a desktop replacement get the G73.

G73 is much better spec-wise but might be prone to problems.

Also G73 is refurbished which means it will not come with a long warranty, the MSI has 3 year warranty.

I'd say the MSI is the safer bet.

Ive seen how BIG the G73 is at bestbuy lol! If you want to travel(like me) and use a laptop on a plane or wherever there's only a small space. There's no competition...

The GX640 was just small enough for an airplanes.(coach class)
You can use it without NEEDING the left and the right armrests, or if the person infront of you to never lean back(not likely lol). I think its the perfect size to travel and just fine to use everywhere else.

The GX640's heat is average for a gaming laptop.

    About the fn/ctr keys:
It takes getting used to at first.
I think it's better this way, not having to bend my finger further back and to the left.
(I have short fingers, so you can feel the difference more I think lol)
    It's really quite comfortable!

I got my GX640 without any flex, but was ready to fix it if there was.(quick and easy)

    About how it plays games!:
If you want a small laptop that can play every game on high or very high settings!(see the videos I made on my channel)

    The GX640 is a great laptop! :D

You should look at all the videos I uploaded on what the GX640 can do! Look for the new ones I made, because they were made after I updated my drivers!

Thats about all I think I need to copy and past from other replies I made lol! :D
