The GT60 is a bit thicker, but it has a better GPU, wifi, and audio. I'm pretty positive the GT60 will run a good bit cooler due to the larger size and larger cooling system, but it might not have the battery life the GE60 has. If you're worried about weight with school stuff, the GE60 is pretty light and easy to move around. They are both very good machines, so the decision is really up to you. If you want the most power you can have for playing games, go with the GT60 with the 770m, if not, get the GE60 with the 765m (It's no slouch of a card, but the 770 will still give you a bit more punch)

The GT60 does consume more power but has a larger battery life so don't let that concern you, it more comes down to weight and cost.

Is the GT60 keyboard any different? I'm not sure why but it looks different to me

They both have SteelSeries keyboards, although I believe they're different models.

I would recommend going with the GT rather than the GE model. More bang for your buck.

Personal note: I wouldn't recommend doing business with XOTIC PC. Had a bad experience with them.

If you're not in California (tax purposes) I would go with Prostar or GenTech. I'm sure they'll treat you right!

Looked at them too; my understanding is that the GE only has a backlit keyboard I think red only whereas the GT has all the coloring options.
Personally, I'm going for the GT60 because of the extra HDD bay and RAM slots. I especially like being able to have an SSD, HDD and ODD. Of course I'm just planning on getting the base model GT60 2OC-022US and upping the ram and adding an ssd os drive later
The GE wins on thickness and weight but the GT has better performance capabilities and upgrades very well
Also I hate to say it but XoticPC does have the better looking website
And frankly most of the upgrades I'd do are easy enough to DIY (RAM and HDD maybe even a wrap)

Upgradability is key. You can DIY as I did (SSD & RAM) but as for adding in a glossy gamut screen - that can be a bit challenging.

Oh and mate the website eye candy is unimportant as to customer service and satisfaction. ;)
