Coming from a Macbook Pro to the GS60, there are a few things I just can't get used to.

Are these issues fixable in any way?

1.) The machine just doesn't feel as snappy even though spec-wise it's running a quad core haswell i7 as well. Web pages sometimes take 4-5 seconds to load. What could possibly be causing this?

2.) The trackpad is TERRIBLE. Even using it with just one finger, it is so difficult to click on small links. And every time I click, the cursor moves a bit! Is there ANY way to fix this?

3.) Battery life sucks. I realize the best solution is to buy a beefy external battery. What works best?

    1. Update the Killer driver package.
    Download

    2. Update BIOS, EC firmware, and Touchpad driver because they are all related to touchpad issues.
Please provide the full model # of your GS60 so I can better assist you, thanks.

    3. The battery time is about 2.5 to 3 hours, how many hours were you getting?
Currently, there's no way to power the unit with an external battery except with a car battery.

Wow thanks! This fixed all of my non-battery problems. Everything works great now.

I thought there were external batteries you could buy to charge laptops. There seem to be some on Amazon that are 100,000 MaH

Voltage is an issue, you need something that can supply 19V.

That looks like it could work. I have never tried external batteries with laptops but it seems it has the correct voltage. As long as it can supply enough current, you should be fine. Just confirm the full power of the battery can give, because it might not give enough power for gaming, for example. It seems to only give up to 4.5amps at 20v, which puts you in 90w, compared to the 150w PSU your machine normally has.

It should give you a lot of battery for normal work, just nothing too taxing :)

Try to get your CPU to a very poor watts, and don't use your GPU. It will help battery life. Like .8Ghz will be good.

i'm having problems with the Killer networking as well.. but I had the driver package installed already and everything works great and all of a sudden the internet connection becomes limited and I am flushed with DNS errors.. can't reach anything. But if I turn on a VPN it works again. All the other devices work perfectly on the router.

Both cable and wifi adapters are affected. If I uninstall the drivers everything is fine again but I have really slow webpage loading like mentioned here before.

I installed the same networking driver package as described above.

    Any ideas?

yes and I also tried driver only without the manager.

It works for a while and then after a reboot it just stops working. I can reboot what I want but it won't work. then all of a sudden it can start working again and stop again.. really annoying problem!
