    Hello Everyone,

In February 2012, I bought an MSI GT-783 Notebook; GTX 580m, Patriot Wildfire SSD, 90% gamut screen and other features.
In December 2012, a problem occured out of the blue, where if i was running ANY graphic intenstive program (i.e. BF3/3Dmark etc), the
computer would after (10 minutes or so) power off as if someone pulled the cord from the back.

I originally bought it from powernotebooks.com but they told me to contact MSI. Sent it in to MSI, they sent it back TODAY and replaced
the motherboard with GT70 board and video card with GTX 675m (similar to GTX 580m i guess).

The Problem is they replaced the front panel interface with one that comes with the GT70 model.
There is a button on the GT 783 model (shown in pic below), that once pressed would load CINEMA PRO 2 which was mapped to the key shown in pic.
Now I have NO P1 key or anything to map it to...

Can someone please tell me how I can get Cinema Pro 2 to work?

Thank you fellas for your help in advance.

    "Contact MSI". ;)

In all seriousness, with no mapped/designated key, you may have to launch the program manually from now on. If you aren't open/interested in majster msi's alternative, then perhaps you should try contacting MSI support to see if there is a workaround to map it to another button or key.

    Good luck!

    Thanks. Appreciate the advice :)

Yeah, the program doesn't launch manually. It was programmed into that key but since I dont have that key; I tried programming in P1 (user-defined) button; still doesnt work.
Going to call back MSI again - hopefully i can get it to run.

Btw, Im interested in an alternative solution ... just haven't found one yet, lol

Many desktop monitors have different color settings. The may be labeled as Standard,Photo,Movie etc.

What Cinema Pro attempted to do was to adjust the default color profile to make video more vivid.

You have a 90% NTSC monitor in your notebook that can display great color when calibrated for the lcd/graphics card combination.

You can adjust your color in Windows Color Management while watching a video windowed and save that profile to be used when needed.

    Control Panel>Color Management>Advanced

Also try out different players,WinDVD,PowerDVD,Media Player Classic and other to select the one that pleases you best.

Cinema Pro was somewhat of a marketing gimmic and is no longer needed with newest graphics cards, drivers and monitors.

Thank you. That makes quite bit of sense.
Do you think I should use those professional calibration (like Spyder Calibration PRO) ?

Or the way you stated would be better off?

A colorimeter and good calibration software isn't cheap.

If you only have the notebook screen to calibrate and profile the investment may not be worth it.

I own an i1 Display 2 with ColorEyes Pro software and an i1 Spectrophotometer from the days when I lectured on color management and did a lot of fine art printing.

I suggest you first use the Windows Control Panel Color Management

With the Realtek HD Audio Manager set to Stereo sound will only be from the 2 side speakers.

Try installing Realtek HD Audio driver build 6.0.1.6809
    Realtek drivers Audio

Then open the HD Audio Manager and set it to 5.1 and check/uncheck boxes as in the attached photo.

Click on each of the side speakers and the subwoofer and you should hear sound emitted from all 3 speakers.

THANK YOU a million times! Your help has been wonderful! It works flawlessly.

Thank you, this information you provided has been very informative and helpful.

Can you please tell me if you saw a huge difference when you calibrated the screen with this software (in terms of colors for gaming (bf3)/ movies, and just office use) ?
The reason I ask because before Cinema pro 2 "enhanced" picture to more vivid colors with gentle balance. Now i tried downloading vlc and media player classic and didnt really appreciate the colors it gave to the videos.

I do read a lot of users are downloading preconfigured ICC profiles. Is that necessary?

Once again, thank you for all of your time and help.
    I do appreciate your efforts.

After adjustments by eye using the Windows Color management visit
    Monitor Calibration Tests: Black Point

True black that is R-0,G-0,B-0 is the hardest color for monitors to display. On the opposite end of the RGB scale is true white 255,255,255

Download the free Color Picker and set it to RGB and see if you get 0,0,0 on the black patch or screen.
