    Hello!

So I spilled some soda in my keyboard, it works fine but 4 keys are very sticky. Read around here in the support and people talked a lot about the GS60 and that you should contact the official channels. BUT, changing the keyboard will cost around 300 USD so I was thinking that maybe I can try to just clean the keys and maybe buy new keys if manage to break any...?

Also, I managed to find a video on youtube how to remove the keys for the GS60 but anyone who knows if it's different for the GS43VR?

    Any help appriciated!

It shouldn't be different. MSI laptops use the same keyboard from Steelseries (except the high end ones, those are Cherry MX). The GS43VR uses the same conventional chiclet keyboard, and only lacks a numberpad. It should be the same, be careful!

Cool! Thanks! If I do break anything, do you think these will be usable? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-For-MSI...065652?hash=item25b1389634:g:9EkAAOSwEgVWRrpp

Absolutely. Like I said, the keyboard didn't change for more than 3 years now!

Here's one way to clean it. If you can get the piece with keyboard off from the system then you can try to clean it with purified water that doesn't leave anything behind when vaporized, and then make sure it's no longer sticky. Then fully dry it (by cool air) for at least a day before reconnecting it to the system.

Purified water you say? That's a great tip, thank you!
Lucky for me a few of the keys have gone back to normal after dragging them up and down (difficult to get loose and therefore after a little bit I gave up and noticed wow its not sticky any more) so I only have 2 keys (Z and left-CTRL) left to clean probably gonna try to get them off today.

So For anyone who might be interested in the future, I'm not sure if it was completely the same as the GS60 keyboard but very similar. Took a few pictures of the key and under the key as well. Key 1.jpg key 2.jpg key 3.jpg keyboard 1.jpg keyboard 2.jpg

EDIT: the youtube video I watched

The keys on Keyboard1 look slightly a bit larger in length, but they should be fine during the mounting.

Just be careful while removing these key caps as they are very fragile, and if you got them fixed, well done.

    Thank you!
I managed to clean the small keys, though I dont entierly dare to fix the big shift-key.
Not really related but GPU-fan broke shortly after, non me related though.

I'm not sure, looked like the blades inside of the fan fell down and could't spin very well and make a lot of noise at the same time :(
