On the MSI forums, there are some modified firmwares that switch the lower-left CTRL with the FN button. Couldn't the same be done to change the turbo button to something else on the MS-1722 barebones (such as map it to the P1 button so that even this model could engage Turbo mode)?

    Wouldn't that be nice...

There is a small chance of doing this, what i will do is see if i can have a friend (who know a bit about bios edition) to see if our bios is modifiable in any way, but only if the guy has time.

Sounds great. I did already grab the BIOS for the MS-1722 ID1 with the Ctrl/Fn keys switched, so modding it is possible in some degree.

I would love for the second "ctrl" key to be switched with the "~" key just to make it easier to hotkey groups in my rts gmaes :)

Does the ID1 version have the turbo button next to the eco?

Tried the Ctrl/FN switch EC firmware and it works great. Just need your friend's skills (catacylsm) to remap the P1 to Turbo (please let us know what you find out!)

Darth Bane, on the MS-1722 ID1, there isn't even an ECO or turbo button. We just have the wireless/bluetooth toggle, P1 (user defined), and the Webcam toggle.

The P1 (user defined button) is something I never use, and Turbo would be something that I would always use when gaming, so it's the best choice for me.
