Hey guys,
Today I installed some new thermal pads and had to re-apply thermal compound (AS5) on both the GPU and CPU. After booting pc the fan goes skyhigh, constantly (no matter temperature) but the pc is not even warm. I can't find my graphics card in my system anywhere either, it is as if the GPU keeps telling my pc that its hot hence the fan goes crazy, Im trying to settle it down by using the "known" fan controller for gt70 but it is not reacting to that neither. Worst is that the GPU is not found on the PC, any suggestions?

VGA damaged or you have to install drivers. Look at device menager.

Ken at Gentech confirmed this is what the machine does when it can't detect the GPU or it has been removed... it appears something in your pasting or disassembly/reassembly has disabled or damaged the video card. Possibly something is shorted out or got bumped, static discharge shocked something etc. Definitely sounds like hardware and not driver related I'd venture if it spins up fan to full blast and stays that way from bootup on into windows.
