    Good Evening,

I am posting here because I am unable to get a working driver for the 680M GPU. I have tried both Windows 7 Home Premium/Pro & Windows 8 Pro both are x64. I can get every single driver installed except for the 680M. I have attached the link on ebay where I purchased it for reference. I have tried the latest driver from NVidia's website 314.22 and also from MSI's site for the GT60 ONC. If I do get the driver installed, the NVidia control panel doesn't detect anything. However device manager does see the GTX680M but doesn't do anything further. After the driver is installed the computer will go to the loading windows screen (both 7 and 8) but will simply hang on the loading screen. Interestingly on Windows 7, I can reboot it and eventually make it post into desktop. Windows 8 I have to restore the computer. I have tried 3 different HDDs.

Is this videocard bad or is their a missing custom driver I simply can't find or do I need bacon? Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and offer any advice.

Did you install Intel HD Graphics drivers first?

might be an issue with the GPU vbios? also you should try the new WHQL driver 320.18 from Nvidia, its strange that your device manager picks up the card but not the control panel..... Also have you checked your 680M's properties on device manager under the resources tab, I can see a box saying conflicting device list, Good luck tryng

You are right regarding the latest driver and device manager error. I have attached a screenshot. I think I am going to return the barebones, instead of updating the vbios. I found this thread and this is seems very similar to my problem, the only way to make the videocard to show up without the error is to disable the HD3000 but that won't let me play any games. Thank you all for helping me!

you mean the control panel picks up the card when you uninstall the HD3000? It somewhat sounds to me your graphics card is with a non-optimus vbios, anyway since your card might be DOA you should try to RMA it, more so you can try flashing the msi vbios from techpowerup
