New to the laptop. It has an S video connection. Can I connect to my Sony TV and have say a baseball game coming into the computer but be able to watch it on our living roomTV?

I believe that the S-Video cord can be used for OUTPUT video.

What can be done with this is, (under the Maximum Resolution of 1024X768, or 480i) you can put your Desktop onto your TV Screen, on both your Computer Screen and TV, or if you have the option display the S-video signal in a smaller window on your screen (or vice-versa) using your TV Technology.

Check your User Manual which came with your computer on how to use S-Video on your laptop.

Therefore I don't think its possible to display information from your TV to your Laptop, only the other way around.

It sounds like you were asking about watching something like streaming content on your laptop and watching that on your TV. You can do that. The S-Video output allows you to set up either a clone or extended display, but I suggest using the extended display. If you clone displays, your notebook LCD is going to look horrible until you go back to just using it. With extended displays, you just move whatever you want to watch off of your laptop screen to the right and it pops up on your TV screen.
