    Hello,
I have CPU usage of about 30-35 % while downloading something from steam or just downloading one torrent file. When I use task manager to see what use my CPU it is SYSTEM not the torrent app or anything else. Is there a way to solve this or this is normal?
    6820 HK CPU 4 GHz.
    MSI GT73 6 RF laptop.
    Thank you all!

It is normal to have increased CPU usage while downloading files like games from steam, if you have a fast connection and use a good deal of disk speed. The reason is file allocation, probably AV scanning.

Do you use windows's built in anti virus or an external one? I actually found this behavior a while ago, but it can be very detrimental if you have a slow HDD, because if you notice, you are using somewhere around 20 MB/s of your disk, and slow HDDs that means near 50 to 100% of usage, if you also consider those files being not only downloaded but scanned by Windows/AV. It made the whole laptop very slow when downloading at max speeds.

As soon as I changed my HDD for an SSD, the problem was "gone" merely because everything is much faster. Still though, the CPU gets used exactly like yours.

Thank You for an answer. I am using SSD, I do not have a problem with slow laptop only when my CPU has a usage of 30 % I can hear ramping up fans all the time just for downloading things. I am using build in antivirus, I will try to switch it off, maybe it is usage because of it. in task manager I only can see system is taking usage of my CPU but I can not see what is exactly.

    You are welcome!

If you use an external anti virus instead of Windows, the 30% CPU usage will show as the anti virus :)

Could you recommend me some antivirus? I am not sure which one is better performance wise?

Honestly, I have been using Avast free for some years now, without problems. Friends use Panda Antivirus too. The only one that gave us a bit of problems later on was AVG which became a bit too heavy, not sure if they are still as bloated since I havent used them in a couple years.

I use Avast Free and turn on silent mode on.
