Looking forward to the GS60 Ghost series pics and specs would be great, only hoping the price is a bit cheaper than listed.

It seems like all of these are going to require the 3k screen, and not have the option for a 1080p screen. My only concern is the ability of the 880m to drive that high resolution and still maintain good gaming performance.

Also has it been confirmed that the 880m is simply a refresh of the 780m with slightly higher clocks?

    Dissappointing, utterly dissappointing.

MSI keeps reusing the 4 year old GT60/GT70 chassis which is long overdue a change. Not just because of the sub par design but also it have a sub par cooling system. Now they call them "Dominator", but really its the exact same notebook as older GT70/GT60. Typical MSI marketing, make a big nothing out of their notebooks with stupid posters and infograms like this one. Its still a crappy design where they cheaped out including a bigger PSU like the GT series really need, to allow overclocking. Both Asus, Clevo and Dell have 240W PSUs on their systems while MSI use 180W.
Its like they have given up the high end notebooks and instead rely on their marketing group.

They do have some nice features like 3K display on the GT60 or Raid0 card, but for me, the negative aspects outweigh the positive sides. Unfortunately.

GS60 have a fresher and much nicer look, but obviously it will not have the same hardware as GT models so for me they are extremely little interesting.

New GS60 was the one I was watching like a hawk and interested in if they could fix their track record of poor and loud cooling systems. Those images have immediately turned me away.

I've been watching and waiting for so many thin and lights that can game and a angling and thinking. I've finally settled on wanting a 4-5lb solution with a decent GPU that isn't a hair dryer under load. I'm down to rMBP 15 and Razer 14 it seems.

YES. but with different clocks and RAM. it may be a good overclocker but that could be a card by card basis as well. stock it is absolutely underwhelming compared to the 780

I can't 100% agree on that, I think GS70 cooling system is quite efficient, most of the times either completely silent or quiet and turns to high speed only under really heavy load (with new EC). But again mine was repasted by xoticpc and I've heard some had issue with stock heatsinks not fully bolted or not pasted properly.
I can OC GPU almost to max and it doesn't break a sweat keeping it in 70C range during heavy play (as monitored by MSI Afterburner)

GS70 Pro looks interesting, any spec on that one.

I'm confused as to why we can preorder now? We don't even know which gfx card we would be preordering? Can anyone confirm the MSI GT60 Dominator 3K-474 has the GTX 880m? Its around the 2k price which was the price of the 780m GT60. But this now has a 3k screen and not sure if it has pushed the price for the flagship card up a bit.

    Anyone ?

awww crap the GS60 is above my budget hopefully the price goes down >_< anyway it's alot better than the new Asus G56jr since it'll have a Maxwell gpu compared to the G56jr with the old GTX760.. Though I can't wait to see the reviews for both laptop..

Ok.. those images are much better, I'm back to interested! :)

I understand not being able to talk about the GPU, what about how much it weighs?

Nevermind.. seems XoticPC says " less than 0.86 inch and weighing in at a mere 6 lbs". Odd to claim lightest gaming notebook when the Gigabyte P25W is 5.7lb. Thinnest maybe. :) Unless of course that weight is including the power adapter.

The Razer Blade 14 is consistently in the 40-42db range under load during reviews. That's where i'd like to be, but it seems most thin and light notebooks are creeping into 49-50db or higher, which is significantly louder.

EDIT: seems notebookcheck says 49db during furmark+prime95 but 40-42 under "gaming". Which seems to be 44 and 49 for the GS70. So not so different. Only the 2 lbs. :)

That GS60 is a beauty, not sure I can help myself not buying this!

The XoTICPC quoted weight must be the GS70's weight as ExcaliberPC also quoted the GS70's weight in the GS60's spec; I'm sure it will be lighter than this.

Unfortunately MSI have still left the 2.5" SATA slot and the 6-cell battery from the GS70 :( and I'm pretty sure it will still need a complete motherboard disassembly in order to simply re-paste or swap RAM... but I am almost sold.

I had it almost ordered from gentech with a 500GB evo and 16gb ram but I just couldn't pull the trigger until I saw a review. Seems I've grown some willpower in my old age.

Yeah, there's no way it's 6lb.. I doubt even 5.7.. In going to guess 4.9 lb.

I believe we got the right dims and weight: MSI GS60-2PCi78H11 flaches Gaming Notebook i7-4700HQ SSD Full-HD neueste GTX
    GS60 Specifications:
    Battery
    Jusqu'à 7 heures d'autonomie
    Ion Lithium, 6 cells
    Adapter
    150 Watt, 100-240 Volt AC-In (Slim Type)
    Système d'exploitation
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 64 bits
    Logiciel
Logiciel MSI (y compris MSI Gaming Center, bateau Configurer MSI, MSI Graver récupération, Xsplit jeu Caster et SteelSeries Engine)
    Dimensions (L x H x P)
    390 x 266 x 20 mm
    Weight
    2 kg

Now comparing it to the GS70:
    Dimensions 418.5 x 287 x 21.8 mm
    Weight (KG) 2.66Kg (w/ Battery)

    and to the Gigabyte P35K
    Dimensions 385(W) x 270(D) x 21(H) mm
    Weight ~2.16kg (w/Li-polymer battery)

Not bad, I wish they had made it a tad smaller though.

I'm keeping my eye on the GS60 if it's really that light. However, I was hoping that it would be priced more competitively to Gigabyte's model.

I'm drooling over the GS60 but I won't pull the trigger until it's confirmed the GPU is the soldered/Maxwell version. The soldered RAM can also be a deal breaker for some...

The RAM is upgradable based on the customization options in the preorder process. The fact that the GPU is not, and let's be for real at 4.4 lb thin and light, I don't expect MXM.

Hmm, I see GenTech has upgrading options, I was looking at Xotic earlier where there were no customization options... That's why I assumed they kept the soldered RAM from the GS70 models.

Speaking of soldered GPUs, are they generally not detected by GeForce Experience and need modified drivers to update?

This GS60 Ghost pro with 870M must be a typo, it is also listed on a German website but I doubt very much it's legit (especially because we never seen any onboard 192bits+ VRAM)

The GS60 Ghost is really only 4.4 lb? That's quite amazing.
