Well im ready to buy a GT72 and it looks like I have options. I can buy now and get windows 8.1 with the 4710HQ or wait until the new one is released with Windows 10 and the i7 5700 HQ. Is the 5700 going to make a big difference?

No it'll be like a 4800hq. For gaming it will make almost no difference. In fact they might raise the price when that comes out so I would recommend the 4710.

second with Galm. most of gaming usage still depends on GFx but not CPU. also the manufacturer's advantages such as SSE, GPU switch are the same.

5700 will give you a marginal improvement in performance. I have a 4720HQ and while a 5700HQ scores higher in benchmarks and all, we are talking about 3-5% higher performance on CPU only tasks. This means little to no difference in games.

Unless you are dong something very CPU intensive, then the 4710 would be absolutely fine. If you are gaming, then you won't even really max out the 4710 any time soon probably. I think the main reason to get one of the new 5th gen models is for G Sync (it's not on all models though), but not so much the processor. If you get a model with Windows 8.1, then you still get your free upgrade to Windows 10 it will just take a little bit to do the download on it, so again I wouldn't consider that a strike against it either.

Generally, you want the programs you use the most, like productivity software etc, to be on the SSDs, and leave the 1TB drive for large files, movies, music, and even games. You can install games on the SSD that you will be using the most, so that they load quicker, but other than that, it is better to install them on the large drive.

Making an assumption here. But if you are using it for gaming, you won't see any real benefit in terms of a boost to frames per second by having a game installed to an SSD. Just quicker on the loading times, as ryzeki mentioned. So games will generally perform about the same if it is installed to the HDD, in terms of fps.

I would not recommend upgrading, if you do be sure to backup your system and data first for an easy recovery.

Congrats on your order! If you do not mind Windows 8.1 then you can use that until all the little Windows 10 bugs are fixed.

I would have waited for a model with the Skylake CPU if you didn't need it right now.

    Why Amazon?

I'd recommend Gentech,Power Notebooks or Xotic

Also stay with Windows 8.1 until all the Windows 10 privacy issues and forced driver/software updates have been worked out.

You have a year to update for frree.

I updated then restored back to Windows 7 and 8.1 from images I had created

UPS just delivered my computer!!! Im at work right now so I cant open it until I get home in a few hours. I do have a question. About a year ago I watched a YouTube video of this guy that was cleaning bloatware and installing a few programs form one website like AVG, CCleaner ETC on his MSI laptop. I was searching for the video and for the life of me I cant find it. Does anyone happen to know the video im talking about and can link it please?

Is this the video you are talking about?

Win 7 is still the most lean and stable OS.
Win10 needs more polish by Microsoft.

Welli love the gt72!!!! Only thing I can't figure out is I'm using Bose in ear buds with a mic and I can hear the people but the computer uses the built in mic rather than my Bose mic and it doesn't sound good. I tried all 4 ports and I went in and checked and the Bose headset doesn't come up. Any ideas?

Is your Bose an USB interface type or 3.5mm audio plug?
Be sure to go to Recording devices and select the desired device as your default device.
