I've been on the forums for plenty of time just reading and researching. Finally i registered to start getting some feedback.

Im in the market for a gaming laptop and my main game in the next few months will be BF3. after copious amount of time of researching branded, nonbranded, and barebone laptops, im actually leaning towards the Powerpro 12:17 pre-order with the 570m gpu and the Malibal p151hm1 with the 560m gpu. both machines offer the greatest bang for the buck. so my question is should i buy now and start breaking in the machine making sure everything checks out fine for a month about before the release of BF3 or should i wait till the month of October and buy then? since these are nonbranded machines i dont know if better deals or pricing will be out by then.

Also feel free to enlighten me with other deals/prices that im probably missing out... these are the specs im looking for....

    15-17 inch screen
    i7 2630QM
    8gb ddr3
    500gb
    570m (pref) or 560m
    over all quality build
    good warranty package
    1000-1300$

I would go with the 570m personally, I hear it has a noticeable increase in performance vs. the 560m. With laptops, you need all the performance you can get, especially since the GPU is typically difficult (if not impossible) to upgrade. Even if you wanted to upgrade, buying a new GPU costs a lot of money, far more than a desktop GPU. You might as well be as future-proof as you possibly can when it comes to laptops. Desktops at least are far more modular and have cheaper components.

I love the mobility of laptops but the price and sheer power of a desktop, torn between both. :D

You should get it now and go for the 570m considering BF3 will be heavy on graphics.

You are not likely to see any major price drop on gaming laptops powered by NVIDIA GTX 570m or at least not until the holiday season. You shouldn't worry too much at all, because you would still own the latest gadget two months down the road. As a shopper, you should definitely look around a bit more.

Good point..i have been looking at pretty much each gaming model from different venders that features a 570M. I think i may go with the MSI Force 1761 model from xoticpc. High performance parts at a dirt cheap price!

Please be noted that the MS-1761 is basically a GT780DXR barebone machine (CPU/Memory/HDD/OS to be added), you do not get the backlight keyboard and one year warranty instead of three (2+1).
