    Hello, I've been shopping for a good gtx 1070 laptop and this one seems to fit the bill, however I've seen some pics of the internals where the battery is sandwiched between all of the thermals https://www.notebookcheck.net/fileadmin/Notebooks/MSI/GE73VR_7RF_Raider/msi_3.JPG and I was wondering if this would have a negative effect over prolonged periods of time. Most other laptops seem to place the battery away from all of the heat exchange.

    I've also heard scattered reports of coil-whine and was curious if this is something I should expect. I wasn't planning on buying an extended warranty with this one as it's very expensive to do so in Canada, and I think the manufacture covers 2 years, but I'd like to keep this around for at least 4 or 5. Does that seem realistic given the brand and model? I haven't owned an MSI laptop before.

    From what I hear the cooling is decent on this model. I'm not really looking to spend the extra money or lug the extra weight for a GT.

    Have a GE63VR 7RF, which is the 15.6" for the same specs. I'm currently very satisfied with the product.
    As for your question: unsure about the battery life being affected, I suppose it might in the long run.
    Also, no coil whine from the 15.6" one.
    While it's a thumbs up from me, check the main GE63VR/GE73VR thread for other people's reviews also.
