Hello folks!
So I have this GT780dxr imported from the US to the UK and it gave me some problems right out of the box. It already went to warranty repairs, globally covered, once and it's going to take a trip back to the US given that it's gone on fire. Literally, huge sparks from the plug, and smelly smoke coming out.
Now my dilema is; if it's just the AC acting weird, and the mobo is actually ok, warranty won't do a thing and I will still waste money on transport, so may I accidentally plug it in for an hour after taking out the CPU, GPU , RAM and HDDs? This laptop's just a masterpiece (I guess i'm just not too lucky), it'd be a shame if all that got burnt inside the case.
Funny case I got into eh? Thanks in advance to those who reply!

I broke mine on my clevo. But since warranty was over, I had the plug in the laptop changed for approximately 40£ in some random tech place.

If the magic smoke came out then the motherboard is likely toast.
I don't know what you mean about plugging it in without parts since that would achieve nothing.
plugging it in after it has been on fire is a risk to you and your home. -
I know right, I'm so funneh!
I just wanted to see what was going on. I'm a techie and I always try to diagnose the problem by myself. I'm kind of a problematic user/customer
Anyways, there's no doubt it's going to go back to US, and I think I'm not going to even try and fry the mobo anymore. Let the poor thing rest in peace...
Broken GT780, still on warranty but not by much, watdo?
