I know I have another thread up about troubleshooting for the KLM not being installed on this computer we just purchased from xoticpc.com; but now we have another issue.. there is no camera installed in the computer. We have looked for the driver, but the laptop does not even register the camera being in the computer at all..?

I cannot call them unfortunately, or even MSI to troubleshoot this issue >__<
    Any information is appreciated.

If you can see the camera in the top of the screen, then yes it's installed. I believe the camera uses some sort of native windows driver.

To enable the camera just hit Fn (Function) + F6. There is a little camera key on the F6 key. You should see the little camera icon show up on the screen when you turn it off and on. Go to search and open "camera" and test it.

Thank you so much, we had reinstalled the drivers, tried to figure out everything.. and this is what worked. Such an odd way of turning it on and off!

It's a common source of confusion. A lot of people just assume it's in an "always on" state. I'm glad someone was able to help out!

We get this question very often, I had an email with the exact same thing. MSI has it off by default, we should mention it to have it on by default but not quite sure what % of people use it.
Glad you got it figured out.

Default setting is to prolong battery life since EC can consume about 5 to 10% of battery everyday.

LOL! How many times have we seen threads like this? This is hilarious, and turning on the webcam continues to be a common issue for some users...... because no one READS THE USER's MANUAL, LOL!

Even funnier, is those who have the nerve to blame the manufacturer.

    :D

Keep in mind that the same thing is true for Bluetooth. Mine wouldn't detect until I did FN+F9 and turned it on. At least the camera has a mark on the button for it. BT didn't (at least on mine).

Why?..... That is no excuse...... it should be on your original driver disk, and is readily available online. I am not going to let you off the hook that easily.
