    Looks good!

If it were me I'd probably have opted for 2 750GB 7200rpm hard drives(very cheap deal) and not the Seagate hybrid.Too pricey for little gain.

I like the real deal,SSDs not hybrids.

I guess the GTX580M upgrade was too costly?

Yeah didnt want to pay the premium for the 580M.

1.5gb would have been too much space for me... and from the reviews I read the hybrids are pretty damn fast(but your right not as fast as pure SSD's of course).

I do have a question for you experts. I saved $50 by not getting a "main HD" but getting the a HD for a secondary slot. I plan on just using the 2nd slot HD only. Are there any true differences? ie. will the access speed for the HD be the same in either slots?

    Thanks.

Are you installing Windows 7 yourself?

I doesn't matter whether the boot drive is in primary position 0 on the SATA bus(drive label up when viewing) or the secondary position 1.

To prevent a PXE error message where the notebook tries to boot from the Lan set the boot order in the bios,DVD>Boot Drive>Lan or Boot Drive>DVD>Lan

Only in a few instances does the hybrid drive perform better than a WD 750gb Scorpio Black.

To perform really well the hybrid would need about 64gb of solid state cashing memory, not 8gb.

Again, best of luck with the new notebook.

XOTIC is a fine company as are others that are more helpfull and have a presence on these MSI forums.

XOTIC seems to be MIA here!

Let us know when you get it and your impressions of it.

I'm glad to see you got a wireless card upgrade.

The BFN 1103 ia a very good card when coupled with a router that can use it's advanced features like the Netgear WNDR4500.

The Force models had?have? the Atheros AR8592 1x1 as the stock wireless card intended for the value PC market to keep the advertized stock price low.

I can beat that. I was going to order from Xotic until the nice fellow over at Gentech emailed me a coupon code.

Here is what I got for $1387 shipped

    -i7 2670
    -570m
    -8gb DDR3 1600
    -750gb 7200
    -Bigfoot Wireless 1103 (3 Antenna)
    -4x BluRay read
    -Windows 7 premium

By the way, my new total is $1477 since I called back and added the Steel Series keyboard.

So basically, for $87 more, you could have got a upgraded CPU, upgraded RAM and a BlueRay player. You would have lost your Hybrid Drive but that money would have probably have been better spent towards a SSD. Can you call and cancel or is it to late?
