could be the mxm slot or a loose screen connector? Did you blow out the mxm slot and check all connections?

Well, mxm connector is clean. I used a ear stick with alcohol, and a vacuum. Should be fine.

For the loose screen connector... Well, where should it be?
Keep in mind it's a laptop.

    Anyway thanks

Well, I'll try this. But Sony has hdmi. Would this a matter?
Or I have to use a VGA connector to be sure?

though from the op the problem was with the monitor built into the laptop?
    not an external one

if it is the laptop monitor that has issues but it is fine on an external monitor, then i would suggest it being a problem with the laptop monitor connection to the motherboard, so id suggest checking the connection, but only strip down your laptop & do that if you were 100% confident in yourself to dissemble & resemble your laptop

if you mean the monitor connector: i have just had another look at the disassembly guide it is step 6.3 i missed it last time

what i think it is depends on whether or not the blue is there on an external monitor

if it is on an external monitor then it is ether a GPU or CPU issue

if its not on an external monitor then it is hopefully the laptop monitor/screen connector is seated incorrectly or in the worst case it is a issue with the laptop monitor/screen

    just a few questions

so this blue shade was there before replacing the GPU?

it was an intermittent problem? as in it would go away & come back

you have tried unplugging the monitor cable & putting it back before? or do you mean you reseated the gpu?

it is still there after after replacing the gpu?

is it exactly as shown in the pictures or is it more like a blue tint across the whole screen (like you are looking through slightly blue filter paper)?

    are you running optimus?

Well, sry to don't put any quote, I'm using the smartphone.

    Ok, let's see.
The problem was permanent, just one time I had the Blue shades disappearing, the very first time I removed and cleaned and reposted the original gtx 770m.
10 secs later blue shades came back.

Then I kept running the laptop with the issue. Consider that the shades only are visible when there is something black (as you can see in the pictures).

Finally I decided to upgrade and gifting me with a new gtx 970m.
I managed to change it and once turned the laptop on I discovered to have the same problem.
So yes, different GPU, same Blu shades.

Tomorrow I'll try to connect to an external monitor, not only to my TV, I'm going to bring my laptop to a friend, that uses desktop and I'll connect to a standard LCD monitor.

I'm reviewing the disassembly guide and I think to be to do the job.
Isn't the first time, maybe last time I was younger ;)

I really hope that strip could be the solution. The fact that once I had the shades disappeared let me see a hope.

Well, Ty for your considerations, now it's time to sleep.

    Hi.
I tried to cnnect the laptop to an external monitor... no blue shades.
Ok, so seems the problem should not be the VGA.

Ill try to disassemble the laptop and to clean that strip!

shouldn't need cleaning just might of worked its way loose so it would be as if the connector is not seated correctly

saw this post so did the vBios & a driver reinstall fix it fix it?

Ah nono. It worked meaning the new card worked!

No, the blue shades are still present.

Need to check that string if this could solve the issue.

The good news, at the end, is that the old Gtx 770m is perfectly working...
May I try to install on the Sager of my wife...

Hallo. I tried to connect to led monitor and NO blue shades.

So, have to be that damn connector.

I checked the LVDS connection last day and repluged. Nothing changed.

Do you think I have to change the whole monitor?

i would expect so, but once again only if your comfortable with doing so & you are happy that you also believe this is the issue & the use-well if you break it it's your fault, you chose to whether or not to replace the monitor its your choice not mine
