    Hello All,

Summer is coming and temps in my country reach 30 C+ indoors. I already own a zalmann NC2000 but it didnt help with the temps, so i gave it to my girlfriend which helped her sony vaio a lot.

So, What is the best cooler for the GT683?

    A good clean/repasting and a flat table.

A cooler will do almost nothing as air is drawn from the keyboard and not the bottom of the notebook (notice no vents/slits under the fan). Meaker pretty much hit it on the spot.

Oh draws quite a lot from the bottom too. The vents near the graphics card and the ridge along where it rises to be thicker. Just its designed to be difficult to cover all of them in your lap.

A Cryo LX w/ 3 120mm fans positioned in reverse to blow air into through the vents made a 2*C difference to the VGA and 0-2*C for my CPU. This was with BF3 and CPU @ 3.0ghz running at 65W TDP sustained and VGA OC'd heavily... Also, the heatpipes from the VGA run directly above the vents, radiating the drawn heat, so even if it does draw from the bottom, I haven't seen it make a tangible difference. Also, I've used this notebook on a bed multiple times and my gaming temps have gone up 3-5*C, but I attribute it more to the exhaust vents being slightly blocked rather than the bottom vents. Obviously they are there for a reason, but I haven't been able to see it. I'll try blocking the bottom vents tomorrow when I have time to see if it does anything or my experience was flawed in some way.

Yeah the difference is small because the venting is enough for the design.
