As title states.
Also, why does the MSI site only show driver version 8.6 for download? (I'm looking at the gx740 drivers)

I've been using Cat 10.8 and I've had no problems so far. I haven't measured with benchmarks or anything, but it seems to be running strong.

Alright, so since I've never upgraded an ATI driver before, just driver sweeper/cleaner and install new after reboot?

I've been using the 10.8 drivers on my GX740, and they're generally OK except for broken OpenGL on a few games. Quake 3 works fine, but Quake 2 crashes. What you'd need to do is extract/expand the OpenGL driver from Catalyst 10.4 and copy the file to the game directory. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works.
So far, I've been pretty impressed with the Radeon Mobility 5870. I'm glad I didn't spend the extra $400-500 for the GeForce GTX 480M. -
Hmm... after upgrading the drivers it "feels" like the performance is a bit weaker. Didn't bother to do 3dmark on stock but with the newest(8.762) I got around 11900.
With Dirt2 it didn't seem like there was a difference. DX11 all max 4xAA and averages 41 FPS at 1680x1050 with both drivers.
Anyone with JC2 care to run some benchmarks to compare? (RE5 and AC2 if you have those as well)
Edit: Can anyone comment on the 8.732.0.0000 drivers from the MSI website for the gx740? Does it included CCC?
Best driver for 5870 in the E7405?
