What would be the best 17inch 16:10 CCLF screen to upgrade one in GX740? It can be WSXGA+ (1680x1050) of WUXGA (1920x1200). I am looking for one with possibly highest brightness and color gamut. Also, could dual CCFL screens be connected to GX740 MoBo?

Thanks for that. What about the brightness levels of the LTN170CT03? I currently use Samsung 170MT02-G01 and it's pretty much crap. The LTN170CT03 can be found for around $175 on ebay. BTW +rep added :)

Nope, the part number is the same as what he has. :D

I personally recommend the LP171WU1-TL A2 panel, made by LG Electronics.

It is known as a really good panel with a WUXGA resolution, and when I had the GX740, I swapped my screen for this and it was great, and you will notice a difference.

    Try that one! :D

You mentioned best, then this is the best:
Sharp LCD - this one is used. You can find new one, but is almost double the price :) Otherwise LG is just good, not the best :) Personal opinion.

The one in Your link is $99, doubling the price would be ~$200. The other panels mentioned in this thread so far cost around $175, so the difference is not that huge. Do You know the parameters of the Sharp panel? How do You know its the best?

It's from a Dell Precision. Though not the best as he claims, but generally Dell Precision are professional grade workstation laptops with the top LCD panels. If you find an LCD panel used in an HP EliteBook 17", Dell Precision 17" or a 17" Lenovo workstation, you are looking at the industry's best LCD panels. Best for workstations though, can't say if they are best for gaming.
