Hi! I have a few quick questions.

First, I have the following parts.

    -Core 2 Duo T7300 Merom 65nm Socket P Processor.
    -Intel WIFI Link 4965AGN
    -2x2 GB DDR2 SDRAM 667
    -WD Scorpio 250GB Drive
    -No Optical Drive
    -Window Vista Ultimate x64

Will those parts fit a MSI-1651 Barebone Notebook?

Second, is the CPU compartment hard to get into on the 1651 Barebone?

    Thanks in advance!

I have heard only 45nm cpu's will work in the 1651. But I havent tried this personally.
    HD will be fine
    WIFI will be fine
Ram should work but often certain brands of motherboards and ram can be incompatible,

Can anyone confirm that T7300 will work with the 1651? Thanks

    Yes, it works. Tried personally.

No, it is very easy to get install the CPU.

    Wireless works as well.

Yea, they can't say that it works because that's their "official" answer, but real world testing proves otherwise.

The T7300 is not supported in this chassis, yes it will boot but it will not function properly. This chassis supports ONLY 45nm CPU's (T8100, etc, and current platform dual core only).

When SRR (santa rosa refresh) was released a new thermal sensor/controller and thermal diode was implemented. This is why existing santa rosa chassis would not support the newer SRR refresh cpu's. The current models support ONLY 45nm cpu which use the newer thermal sensor/controller, the T7300, etc... do not support this sensor/controller.

so im guessing they will run but will not be able to display or detect temps correct? as far as you know rob is this the only issue with them?

Doesn't really sound like a issue at all.

As far as I KNOW this is the only reason i am aware of. And yes the system not being able to detect the correct cpu temp would be a major problem...

Perhaps if the system had a seperate fan just for the cpu cooling, but in a single fan system that shares a heatsink with the gpu it should be fine. The gpu needs more cooling than the cpu so the fan should be keeping the cpu in check while cooling the gpu.
