It goes away when I restart but comes back randomly.. I've tried latest ATI drivers, also the drivers from the MSI website.. But still get the issue, I'm a freelance designer so this is a big no-no and is really pissing me off...
does anyone know what causes this or any fixes? I'd really appreciate some advice, thanks alot.

can anyone shed some light on what causes this?

Go check your display settings, make sure your running in 32bit colours first.
-
thanks for the reply.
yeas I am running 32bit -
Its cool, lets try sort this.
Banding occurs on my tv when its operating in a lower hz mode, go to your catalyst control pannel and see if you are running in native optimal settings to the display. -

The display on the GX740 is pretty terrible to start with. It took me a long, long time tweaking settings through the Catalyst Control Center in order to get it somewhat bearable. Here are the settings I ended up using most of the time.
In the Desktop Properties section, set:
Gamma: 1.00
Brightness: 0
Contrast: 105
In Desktops & Displays/Notebook Panel Properties:
Hue: 0
Saturation: 98
Brightness: 0
Contrast: 95
The former group of settings resets each time you reinstall or update your ATI drivers. The latter stays constant until you reinstall Windows. -
yeah it's set to 60hz in ati CP too
I totally agree it is pretty bad to begin with.. but not to this level.. -
just 2 try and narrow it down... Correct me if I'm wrong..
Am I right in thinking that, if i show you a screenshot, and it looks nothing like the picture in my first post - That it's the LCD screen itself that is faulty?... and would mean the Graphics card is fine?...
here's an actual screenshot, does it look like I've posted above?
-
anyone?, will only take 1 second to answer..
