While there is inherently nothing wrong per se with that messenger bag, the gt80 titan is a heavy machine. I cant imagine anybody wanting to carry such weight on one shoulder for prolonged periods. I would recommend just sticking with the msi bag that it came with, but if you really wanted an aftermarket Everki is the best way to go my swift for me gt72 has been holding up great so far.

    or

seem like great options, just depends how much you intend to carry along with the laptop. If laptop just by itself the console/laptop bag should be perfect.

Beacon is too small backpack for gt80. Personally I got Everki Titan and it fits this laptop, however it could be a little bit bigger.

It gets a little crazy since the everki Titan is a large back lol, it's what I have used to transport all my beasts around the world.

Well it can hold all your stuff however as I've already mentioned in laptop compartment it's a little bit too tight at very top corners. All in all it's really nice backpack. Even the power brick perfectly fits into the additional small bag which you get with backpack.

Apparently according to Risechi the Alienware vindicator briefcase does not fit the Titan

    I need either:

    a briefcase

or a backpack that can also fit a 2" binder and several notebooks/spirals in addition to the gt80 while still protecting the laptop.

Anyone have any suggestions? Will MSI's backpack fit all of this?

It's gonna be tough, and while you still have the chance, I would beg you to reconsider using it as a regular laptop for college and the like. It is too big so that taking books and stuff with you might mean sacrifices.

But if you are dead set on getting it, get something like the Evereki Titan which is huge enough. MSI's backpack is good but is not too big as to fit a 2 inch binder plus other things.

To give you perspective, I pack on my MSI backpack the following: The Titan, the mouse pad, the gel wrist rest, a notebook, a razer Sabertooth controller, the AC adapter, mouse, 2.5 inch to USB adapter, external 2.5 inch HDD, HDMI 5 feet cable, and an iFix kit. With all of that, it is already quite packed, and I don't think it could hold anything more than maybe 2/3 notebooks.

my textbooks are mostly online now anyways! I just carry all my homework in my 2" binder and take math notes in a math spiral.

I would look at a bag from a manufacture that makes bags that are designed to actually carry loads. The machine is heavy with charger and other stuff. So many of the bags are simply noy up to the task of carrying the loads. Check out Osprey. The straps and back panel are designed well with good ventilation.

When I looked for backpacks I only saw 17 inch osprey backpacks and did not see an 18 inch osprey backpack

Would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks for the info!

    Thanks,
    Mason

I think it SUCKS that only MSI and UNFORTUNATELY Alienware/Dell are the only current manufacturers of 18.4" Notebooks! I'll NEVER buy another Alienware...EVER! There's definitely a market for them - matter of fact once you own an 18.4" notebook there's NO going back ...even a 17.3" notebook!

They/re toys compared to an 18.4" BEAST, worse yet finding a decent backpack/case for an 18.4" notebook is even a bigger challenge. Everything seems to be 17.3" and try and force your beast into that. No BrentHaven, nothing and that SUCKS!!!

Everki Titan is perfect for the GT80 if you want a backpack.

The Slappa 18" laptop case does not fit, however it fits the older all metal alienware 18, which is why i had one to test. I got the red backpack with mine thankfully. I would think I would want a hard case like the slappa if not a backpack.
